It happened in a lot of family's on Christmas morning. A new phone, a new camera, a new way to record the memories of the special day. Many of the people who created these videos have already fallen victim to a heinous syndrome that is already ravaging the internet.

V.V.S. or Vertical Video Syndrome is another name for people who shoot video with the camera or telephone held the wrong way. It's one thing to shoot still pictures in a vertical format, pictures can be turned. Videos are a totally different issues. Most TV monitors, computer screens and even human eyes are based on a horizontal plane.

This very tongue in cheek with some censored nsfw language explains the real reasons why you shouldn't shoot your videos in a vertical plane. Unless you just love looking at empty darkness there is no reason to shoot videos the wrong way.
