The New Orleans Hornets have now won 4 of their last 5 games after defeating the Philadelphia 76ers 111-99 on Tuesday night.

Head coach Monty Williams wanted his Hornets to force the issue offensively and attack the basket. He got his wish, as the Hornets finished with 43 points in the paint, and 17 second-chance points. New Orleans dominated the boards, out rebounding the 76ers 48-32.

Greivis Vasquez (pictured) is hitting on all cylinders. The game has slowed down for the Hornets point guard, as his decision-making improves by the day. Tuesday night, he finished with 23 points, 9 assists, and 2 rebounds.

“We’re getting healthy now, and we are becoming a team now,” said Vasquez in post game. “We have guys who can just get out there and go. And I think our best weapon right now is our energy, because we’re so young.”

Eric Gordon was solid as well, scoring 19 points in 32 minutes. Rookie Anthony Davis was active on both ends of the floor, finishing with an impressive stat line of 10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

New Orleans’ bench had an impressive outing, with a surprisingly solid performance from Hornets forward Xavier Henry. The third year pro out of Kansas spends a lot of time on the pine due to his inconsistent play. Tuesday night in Philly, Henry (11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist) was active defensively, spaced the floor offensively, and knocked down some big shots.

Ryan Anderson led the bench scoring with 14 on a night when the Hornets reserves combined for 46. Jason Smith had 6 points and 7 rebounds.

The Hornets face the Boston Celtics tonight for the back-end of a road back-to-back. Tip-off is set for 7:00.
