Hospice of Acadiana will begin accepting donations for its annual thrift sale Friday.

Special Events Coordinator Kari Walker said weekly collections will take place on Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hospice of Acdiana office located at 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200.

Accepted items for this year’s sale include baby items, toys, china, crystal, collectibles, Christmas and Mardi Gras décor, garden and outdoor items, home décor, jewelry and boutique items, kitchen items, small appliances, lamps, rugs, linens and bath items, small furniture, and wall art.  This year, HOA will not be accepting clothing, electronics, exercise equipment, large or upholstered furniture pieces, luggage, purses, shoes, or sporting goods.

As one of the largest fundraisers of the year, all proceeds will support Acadiana’s only nonprofit hospice.

In addition to private counseling, HOA provides educational programs on health issues, end-of-life planning, and hospice and palliative care on a continuous basis at their Johnston Street location free of charge to the Acadiana community.
