Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns ran into a hot shooting University of Houston team at Hofheinz Pavilion Saturday night and the Cougars made 14 three pointers en route to an 85-63 win over Louisiana before an announced crowd of 3,268.

Houston (8-2) hit a scorching 14-28 from beyond the arc.  Six different plahers hit a triple for Houston who was led by three players in double figures.  Joseph Young led the Cougars with 27 points on 10-17 shooting, including 6-11 on triples.  Danuel House, who had made only 3-18 on three point shots coming into the game, was 4-5.  Leading scorer and rebounder TaShawn Thomas had 15 points, 13 rebounds and six assists for Houston.

The Cajuns were led by freshman Shawn Long with 20 points, while Elfrid Bayton added 12.  Those two each had six rebounds to lead Louisiana (4-7) who were beaten 43-34 on the boards.

Houston led nearly the entire game, taking a four point lead five minutes into the contest.  They had the lead to double digits with eight minutes left in the half and extended the margin to 45-29 at the break.  The Cougars were 8-15 from three point range in the first half.

The Cajuns were able to cut the lead to nine points with about nine minutes to go, but misfired on their next two possessions and the Cougars never looked back.

The Cajuns return home for their final two non-conference games of the season, as they entertain Robert Morris Tuesday night at the Cajundome.  Tipoff is at 7:05pm.
