I'll be the first to admit that I'm the least computer literate person in the room, but sometimes when your hand is forced, you have to get with the program, or just remain in a state of constant confusion. I for one, think it's really creepy, how after looking at a business or store website, a pop up ad suddenly appears on everything ELSE I'm looking at. Kinda like they are stalking you! I also don't like the fact that Facebook is choosing to show me what THEY think is important to me, and leaving out all kinds of fun and cool things that I want to look at on my news feed. That goes under the hashtag of #NOTFAIR.

If you want an easy way to keep Facebook from targeting ads, and tracking what you look at, it's a very simple process, and our friends at USA TODAY have shone a light on what you need to do. You can even 'Opt Out' from being 'harassed' (my term!) on the Digital Advertising Alliance's Opt Out Tool. This takes just a little bit of time, but at least you can feel like you are taking steps to take back your social media life - right? Some of this stuff might be a little over your head, like it is for me, but just follow the instructions from USA TODAY, or get someone to help you out - like a teenager!
