According to a new report, if you want a discount, just try telling the sales person that they are hot.

This report is from the University of Kansas. Researchers found that if you compliment a salesperson or manager, it lowers their guard.

It then makes the negotiation less of a competition and they'll like you even more.

However, this philosophy works both ways. That's why sales folks are nice to you too and are quick to pay you compliments. You will then lower your guard and pay what they're asking.
