Inaugural Crawfish Derby To Benefit ‘Save The Bridge Project’

Breaux Bridge has just announced their inaugural crawfish derby, a fundraiser to benefit the "Save The Bridge Project". The derby will take place tomorrow during the  Jambalaya Cookoff.

Funds raised from the crawfish derby will be used to give the iconic bridge in Breaux Bridge the major overhaul that it desperately needs. the Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce say they're aiming to raise about $70,000. That amount will give them what they need to apply for grants that will fund the rest of the project.

So, how does the crawfish derby work? The derby will be a floating crawfish race down the Teche and the first-placed winner will take home $1,000!

Tickets are $5 and available at Breaux Bridge Tourism Center, Farmers & Merchants Bank (B.B. Locations), Teche Bank & Trust, Iberia Bank, Midsouth Bank, and Community First Bank.
