This afternoon at the NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana there will be a press conference. Unfortunately the press conference will move a lot slower than what the subject of the press conference is about. The press and the public will finally get details on the fastest event ever to be held in Louisiana, the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana.

This Indy Car event will be the first of its kind in our state. Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne will be among the dignitaries presiding over a media event today at 3:15pm.  It is expected that race dates will be announced at this press conference. There will also be announcements concerning support events for the race weekend.

The 2.75 mile road course regularly hosts karting events as well as AMA motorcycle events. While the Grand Prix may last for only a few hours, the festivities and activities surrounding the race will fill an entire three day race weekend. Organizers are suggesting a very festival like atmosphere will surround the events leading up to the green flag of the Indy Grand Prix of Louisiana.
