It's definitely beach time. Half of Louisiana seems to migrate east to the "Redneck Riviera" to get their toes in the sand -- places like Gulf Shores, Pensacola, and Destin.

But, you may not know of a nice little jewel here in the Bayou State that has some pretty sand and nice scenery.

Just north of New Orleans in Mandeville sits Fontainebleau State Park. It has pristine white sand and some pretty nice views to go along with hiking trails, camp sites, bayous and a decent beach area.

All in all the park is 2,800 acres and is quite the hot spot in the summer time.

If you'd like to give it a try, it's located at 62883 Highway 1089, Mandeville, LA 70448.
