Ford Motor Company is recalling over 950,000 vehicles worldwide because of an issue with an airbag inflator. The recall is focusing on several different models of Ford cars and trucks. The concern is that the airbag inflator's active ingredients could destabilize over time.

This destabilization could cause the airbag's metal chemical containers to actually explode and fragment. Several people have been injured, 23 of them fatally, because of this suspected failure in the airbag apparatus.

The easiest way to see if your vehicle is included in the recall is to visit the Ford Recall FAQ site and enter your car or truck's VIN. If you don't know where to find your VIN, here's how you'd do that.

According to Ford, the vehicles affected by this recall include 2010 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX, the 2010 and 2011 Ford Ranger, the 2010 to 2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, the 2010 and 2011 Mercury Milan, and the 2010 to 2014 Ford Mustang.

If your vehicle is subject to this recall simply contact your local dealer. They will schedule a service appointment to get the problem solved.
