The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team came into the game against Southeastern Louisiana looking to finish off their non conference schedule with a win. The Cajuns started off slow and got into some foul trouble early but the Cajuns were able to overcome all of that and hold off the Lions to win 73-72 and move to 9-4 on the year.

Jakeenan Gant was able to play in the match-up after healing from his injury but got into foul trouble early in the first half by getting 3 fouls and he spent the rest of the half on the bench. The Cajuns would get a 10-2 run late in the first half to go ahead before Southeastern got 2 free throws to cut into the Cajuns lead.

The Cajuns started out slow again in the 2nd half as the Lions would outscore them 11-5 early in the half to take a 1 point lead. A few minutes later Malik Marquetti would go down with an injury and the Cajuns would look for other players to get it going. The Cajuns were able to keep up with the Lions who had been outplaying them. The game was back and forth the entire night and more so in the 2nd half but Gant had a massive dunk that left 3 seconds on the clock and the Cajuns would defeat the Lions.

The Cajuns will start their conference schedule at home when they face off against Arkansas State on January 3rd at 7 pm and Little Rock on December 5th at 7 pm. The game against Arkansas State can be heard on HOT 107.9 and the Little Rock game can be heard on both HOT 107.9 and ESPN 1420.
