Jason Aldean’s ‘Kiss’ Named Scandal of the Year at the Taste of Country Awards

Having the biggest country music scandal of any year is an honor that comes with few congratulatory messages, so it seems unlikely many will be showered upon Jason Aldean for winning at the 2012 Taste of Country Awards. His night out with dancer and former ‘American Idol’ contestant Brittany Kerr was named the Scandal of the Year by Taste of Country readers.
Voting wrapped up on January 15 at midnight, with Aldean’s indiscretion taking over 43 percent of the vote. Randy Travis finished second. His naked DWI arrest raked in 31 percent, with Ashton Kutcher’s perceived mocking of country music finishing third.
The award is Aldean’s first-ever Taste of Country award, although he received many nominations for the 2012 honors. Since the late-September incident in Los Angeles, the singer has released the popular ‘Night Train’ album and paved a road to reconcile his relationship with wife Jessica. They appeared together at two separate country music award shows last fall, including the 2012 CMA Awards.
