An executive at Jason Aldean's record label expressed gratitude for being able to report the staff and artist roster is safe on Monday, but remorse that so many fans can't say the same. Aldean was on stage when shots were fired at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday (Oct. 1).

Broken Bow Music Group's Executive Vice President Jon Loba calls country music fans family in a note shared on Facebook:

They put food on our tables and allow our artists and staff to live our dreams by going to events like last night.

While our artists and staff are safe, our hearts are broken for those listeners in our extended family who just wanted to share a night of great music and the camaraderie that is the hallmark of country music.

Route 91 Performers Check in After Terrifying Shooting

Fifty eight were killed and over 500 more injured when a gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino, one block from the Route 91 Harvest Festival grounds. Sunday was day three of the festival, with Jake Owen and Kane Brown taking the stage prior to Aldean's headlining set. Video shows the star singing "When She Says Baby" learning that shots were fired and running off stage.

The gunman was 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, a Mesquite, Nev. resident who was later described by his brother as a multi-millionaire. No motive is clear although, there were no early signs that he was working with a terrorist group. Police believe he acted alone.
