A few of my co-workers are big fans of Jimmy John’s, as are many people around Acadiana. They, and you, definitely need to keep an eye on your account, because Jimmy John’s has announced that they believe customers’ credit card data was stolen from 216 of its shops between June and September.

According to Jimmy John's Website, the chain of stores sent out a news release informing the public that stores in 37 states were affected by the breach. There was no initial word on how many customers were affected.

Data including customer credit card numbers, expiration dates and verification codes were stolen, possibly though the user of malware being remotely installed on credit card machines. It is believed someone stole log-in credentials to hack into the system.

The dates of the affected breach occurred between June 16 and September 15th.
