KidFest Set For Today In Downtown Lafayette

We have spent a good portion of this week dodging raindrops in Acadiana. Today the weather forecast is quite good and is going to be perfect for getting out and enjoying the day. If you've got kids you know getting out and enjoying the day can put a dent in your pocketbook. That's why we are proud to report that there is free family fun for you and your kids in downtown Lafayette this morning.

Mommy and Me's KidFest will be held in Lafayette's Parc San Souci in downtown Lafayette between the hours of 9 and 1. The event is free for and your family to attend. While the official name might include the word "Mommy" it's for Dad's too.

This interactive event will feature a lot of hands on fun for kids and adults alike. Many kids will enjoy having a picture made with some of their favorite princesses or heroes. There is also going to be water safety zone. This exhibit will help teach kids and adults the best ways to stay safe around the water this Summer.

New parents will appreciate the assistance and information regarding the proper installation and use of car seats while some of the older kids will really be thrilled with a hands on science exhibit called the Exploration Station.

There will be arts and crafts and face painting too. Of course there will be some great shopping for you to enjoy as well.

Admission to Mommy and Me's Kidfest is absolutely free although some vendors might have a small charge for materials used in their exhibits. This event is TownSquare Media live event. It runs from 9 AM until 1 PM today.
