One of the most fun Mardi Gras parades in Acadiana is the Krewe des Chiens dog parade, and this year it will be held on Saturday February 7th at 2:00 pm. Krewe des Chiens is a non-profit volunteer organization that supports animal charities in the Acadiana area, and the parade, and People's Ball on January 30th, are super fun! Krewe des Chiens is open to all breeds, sizes and origins of dogs. The only requirement is a good temperament and a desire to help less fortunate animals. A completed Membership Form and $25 dues in advance are required ($35 on Parade Day). Registration is open right now to not only walk in the parade, or become a parade sponsor, but you can become a court jester for the event!  You can also register the day of the event, and of course you won't want to miss the annual Costume Contest, which will be held at noon in front of Putnam Park. The theme for Krewe des Chiens this year is 'Super Pups!', so it should be a whole lot of fun! Check out the parade map, and get ready for a howling good time on February 7th!
