This is the time of the year when finding something to do, especially for the kids, can be really difficult. Fortunately Lafayette has one of the finest Parks and Recreation Departments in the state. Our parks are wonderful places to meet friends, have picnics, exercise, relax and take a break from a busy day.

The week of July 2 through July 6 has been designated as parks and recreation week. The folks at Parks and Recreation have created some really cool activities to showcase the many facilities our town has to offer.

On July 2nd Thomas Park will host the Pickle Ball tournament from 10am until 2pm. On July 3rd at the Dupuis Center you can participate in the Ping Pong tournament from 5pm until 9pm. Thursday July 5th its the seniors bingo tournament at the King Center between 10am and 2pm and wrapping up the week on Friday July 6th Girard Park will host a kids carnival from 10am until 2pm. For more specific details on each event you can call (337) 291-5558.
