There is nothing like a visit from Santa to make the garbage cans overflow. Chances are you have extra trash this week and are wondering when to put it by the curb for pick up. In Lafayette Parish the holiday trash pick up schedule will follow the normal weekly pick up schedule. Because Christmas fell on a Sunday your trash will be picked up on the day it normally is picked up.

If you have extra trash, more than will fit in  your blue cart, you can bag that in plastic bags and place it near the blue cart. You do need to allow about four feet of space between your bagged trash and the blue cart so that automated services will still be able to retrieve and empty the smart cart.

Christmas trees will also be picked up on the same day as regular trash service. Authorities remind you to remove all ornaments and decoration from the tree branches. Christmas trees will be collected and then ground into mulch. For more information on trash pick up, Christmas tree pick up and mulch you can contact Lafayette Consolidated Government.
