21-year-old John M. Nicholas of Lafayette has turned himself into police for his alleged role in the October 12 shooting in the 900 block of Sterling Street.

Lafayette Police Spokesman Corporal Paul Mouton says Nicholas, after getting into a fight with his girlfriend and leaving the home, allegedly came back fired multiple shots into it. Cpl. Mouton says there were 7 people inside the home at the time of the shooting ranging in age of six months to 50 years of age. No one was injured and Nicholas got away.

Nicholas now faces seven counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder. Lafayette Police continue to investigate.
