Lafayette Police Investigate Armed Robbery On Castle Row

Lafayette Police were called out to investigate an armed robbery Thursday night off of Guilbeau Road in the 100 block of Castle Row.

The female victim says she was walking to the front of her home when she says a black male suspect came up to her from behind, and he pulled out a gun.

The woman says the suspect demanded her purse, she turned it over, and the man fled.  The woman was not hurt during the robbery.

Police say the woman described the man as a black male in his mid to late 20's, about 5'8", 180 pounds wearing a black hooded sweat shirt with tan pants.

Police say they found the woman's cellphone later near West Congress Street.

Detectives are encouraging anyone with any information about the crime to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
