Lafayette Police Looking For Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Woman In Acadiana Mall Parking Lot

A woman tells police she was sexually assaulted Thursday in a parking lot of the Acadiana Mall in the 5700 block of Johnston Street.

Lafayette Police spokesman Corporal Paul Mouton says it happened around 1:40 pm. as the victim says she was sitting inside her vehicle when the suspect allegedly approached her with a handgun, then sexually assaulted her. She suffered minor injuries.

The suspect got away in an unknown direction. He's described as being in his mid-40's, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, cowboy boots, black sunglasses with black/gray spikey hair and a short beard.
