State Police To Escort Large Oilfield Equipment Tuesday May 7th- Traffic Delays Expected

Here's a heads-up on traffic for today.  State Police will be escorting two large pieces of oilfield equipment.  They escorting process has started.

Police will begin their escort going from I-49 southbound frontage road near Highway 182, then Highway 182 to Highway 723 (Renaud Drive), from Highway 723 to Ambassador Caffery and then it will be at the intersection of Ambassador Caffery Parkway and I-10.  The escort will travel down Ambassador Caffery to Johnston Street and then travel south on Johnston Street to West Broussard Road.

Lafayette Police says the escort will be moving at slow speeds and intersections will be shutdown as the equipment maneuvers past them.  Drivers should expect delays as the move is expected to take several hours.
