The Lafayette Police Department will hold a "Safety Compliance Checkpoint" Thursday between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

The checkpoint was originally scheduled for today, but due to continued clean up from yesterday's weather, the checkpoint has been moved to Thursday.

Lafayette Police says they have these types of checkpoints to make sure drivers are following all laws of the roadway.

Police will be asking to show your proof of insurance and a valid drivers license. They will also be making sure that everyone in your car is buckled up.

Officers will respond with zero tolerance to any violations.
