The Lafayette Parish School Board voted six to three Wednesday night to increase the amount of students in each class by one.

If the school's rating is an A,B or C, then there will be one more student per class.

This will affect 29 of Lafayette's schools.

The board made the move as a budget saving measure.

The move will save the board $ 4 million.

The Lafayette Parish School System is facing a $ 16 million budget shortfall.
