New Orleans went smoke free in bars and casinos just a couple of weeks ago, and it looks like Lafayette could, and probably will be next.

On May 5th, a smoking ban ordinance will be brought before the city parish council meeting. If the ordinance is approved, it will ban smoking in clubs and bars. Not only only would it ban cigarettes, but e-cigarettes as well.

Our buddy, Grammy award winning Chubby Charrier and the Tobacco-Free Living organization have been working along with Council Chairman Kenneth Boudreaux to write the ordinance for Lafayette and unincorporated area.

What's your opinion? Should Lafayette institute a smoking ban?
