Lafayette Teen Catches Enormous 835lb Bluefin Tuna [Picture]

Keith Richardson and his 14-year-old son Kaleb recently loaded up their boat, awesomely name "Who Dat", for a four day fishing trip off the Louisiana coast. What they didn't know is that it would turn out to be the trip of a lifetime because Kaleb eventually hooked an 835lb bluefin tuna!

Keith tells theadvocate.com their fishing trip was already off to a great start. They had already caught quite a few yellowfin tuna. They were on their way back to Grand Isle when they noticed some big fish jumping around at the Neptune, a deep-water oil platform. That's when it all started.

"He got the fish to the boat in 45 minutes on an ‘80’ (reel) with 100-pound test line. Kaleb knew the techniques and how much pressure to put on the fish. (Kaleb) is maybe 115 pounds, and I’ll put him up against any adult angler."
