The Lafayette weather forecast for the Easter weekend is not bad, but it isn't perfect either. The current radar scan shows portions of Acadiana already experiencing shower activity. The better chances of rain according to our TV partners at KATC TV 3 will be on Easter Sunday.

A stationary front is currently situated over the northern sections of Louisiana and this should keep the rain chances north of I-10 for most of today. On Sunday this stationary front will be affect by a short wave moving through the atmosphere and that will bring a better chance of rain to the entire area. The better chances of rain will still remain north of the I-10 corridor.

Rain chances diminish Sunday night into Monday but will not be taken out of the forecast for the short term.  A stronger system is expected to effect Acadiana's weather by Tuesday bring showers and thunderstorms into the area and cooler temperatures by mid week.
