Sunny skies and cool temperatures greeted Acadiana residents this morning. The great weather should hold throughout the day. We suggest you enjoy the afternoon outside maybe take in Ragin Cajun Baseball or Softball.

Tomorrow the forecast begins to change for the area and it looks like the work week ahead will have more than a few chances for rain.

Monday morning's ride into work and school should be fine but the after school activities and the coming home commute could be a different story. A developing system over the plains is expected to bring a warm moist southerly flow of air from off of the Gulf of Mexico into the area. This warm moist air will begin to interact with an approaching frontal system by as early as Monday afternoon.

Monday night looks to be when South Louisiana will be a better risk for rain and some thunderstorms. As of now the outlook for severe weather is minimal but that of course could change if conditions change.

We should get a rest from the rain on Tuesday but should expect a chance of showers and thunderstorms to return to the area by Wednesday with storms likely for Thursday.

Concert goers to the Jason Aldean show at the Cajundome can expect some sunshine with a small chance of showers on Friday. Temperatures toward the end of the week will be mild with afternoon high readings reaching the low to middle 70 degree range.
