If Dave Baker's right as rain forecast is right as rain then you and I will see some rain today. A very rare July cold front is expected to move into the area and kick off a good scattering of showers and thunderstorms by late this afternoon. That's the bad news. The good news is that Wednesday should be not quite as hot and a little less humid.

If the timing on the forecast models holds true our best chances for rain will come between Noon and 8pm today. The showers and thunderstorms that fire up because of the approaching front and the combination of daytime heat and  humidity could be strong but no severe weather threat is anticipated.

Wednesday and Thursday should find temperatures near 90 degrees for afternoon high's but the relative humidity and the dewpoint should be lower. This will contribute to a less stuffy and stifling feeling if you have to be out during the day.

By Friday a good chance of rain and thunderstorms will return to the area and that rain chance should remain through Saturday.
