Christmas Day was a bumpy ride as far as Mother Nature was concerned. A strong upper level system brought heavy rains, thunderstorms and severe weather to the area. Today we will see the effects of another system sliding over the area but with out the potential for severe weather.

While there could be a heavy thunderstorms associated with the passage of a cold front on Friday afternoon the potential for severe weather is minimal.

Rain chances are high for today, Dave Baker has the forecast coverage set at 90% for the daylight hours of today. Rain chances will diminish during the night time hours. The forecast for Saturday and Sunday is for mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the middle 50's.

For those planning a New Year's Eve celebration, rain will be returning Monday with a good chance of showers for New Year's Day.
