A strong Pacific cold front continues to march toward the east and should continue to influence Acadiana's weather for the next 24 hours. The system brought scattered showers to the area last night and scattered rain is currently indicated on the current radar scan.

The Storm Prediction Center has the chance of severe weather in the slight category for all of Acadiana throughout the day today. The current forecast models suggest the morning commute will only see scattered rain and sprinkles while the afternoon drive and the early evening hours might be the best time for heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Meteorologist Daniel Phillips of KATC TV 3 suggested that the strongest storms should remain north of Acadiana this morning but as the day progresses the chance for heavier rain would slow creep southward. Phillips noted that his forecast models suggested the southeaster part of Acadiana and Louisiana might see the stronger storms late today and tonight.
