An approaching cold front interacting with warm Gulf moisture has already proven to be a deadly combination across portions of the Mid-South this morning. This storm system could be the catalyst for a severe weather outbreak in Acadiana as well.

The current radar scan shows a line of heavy to severe thunderstorms, some with embedded tornado warnings moving through sections of Texas during this early Monday morning. The Storms Prediction Center has narrowed down the greatest severe weather threat to an area just north and east of Acadiana.

While we might not be in the area forecast to receive the bulk of the severe weather with this system we still have a possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms through out the day today and into the early evening hours.  According to KATC's Dave Baker there could be a rain threat in the area for much of Tuesday but the latter part of the work week appears to be shaping up to be very nice indeed.
