Just as Dave Baker and Rob Perillo from our TV partners at KATC TV-3 predicted a cold front and storms will be moving through the heart of Acadiana over the next few hours. This storm system should bring some gusty winds, frequent lightning and some heavy downpours to the area as it moves through.

As of 2am the only severe weather watches or warnings associated with this system were well to the north and east of the 97.3 The Dawg listening area. The current radar scan shows where the heaviest of the precipitation is now and its general movement to the east.

The bulk of the heavy rain should be clear of the area by the time the morning commute for work and school begins. Skies should clear by later today with temperatures sharply cooler and humidity values much lower than we have experienced over the past several days. The week end outlook for Mardi Gras parades in New Iberia, Lafayette and Carencro looks spectacular.
