We finally made it through a week without having to close schools and businesses for winter weather. That didn't mean we didn't see some fleet and snow, we just didn't see enough of it to cause any travel problems. This morning when you wake up it will certainly feel like winter is here to stay. This being Louisiana, does that mean it will stay cold today? Or just stay cold through lunchtime? Let's see what the forecast holds for your weekend.

Today will start with temperatures at or slightly below the freezing mark at sunrise. The late afternoon sunshine of yesterday will be replaced by increasing clouds and there is a chance of a sprinkle by later this afternoon. KATC's Storm Team Three Weatherlab forecasters have rain chances a little better for tonight but because of the cloud cover the overnight low should not be as cold.

Saturday and Sunday are looking much better both from a precipitation standpoint and from a temperature stand point. The afternoon high temperatures both Saturday and Sunday should reach into the middle 60's while overnight low temperatures should be in the 40's. The mix of clouds and sun should provide a great weekend to support UL's  Ragin Cajun Softball team as they open up play at home.
