We've unfortunately have all heard tragic the news about the two Lafayette men who drowned in Lake Arthur on Memorial Day. One of the two men who were drowning thankfully did not parish in the incident, and it's all thanks to eighteen-year-old Kyler Rankin.

From kplc.com -

"Rankin said he was closest to shore when the 3 men began yelling for help. That's when Rankin said he turned around and managed to get in contact with two of the men struggling, but was only able to save Chad Dugas.

"I put his chest on my chest and I was backstroking with him towards shore," said Rankin. "I got him as close [to shore] as I could so I could hurry back and get them all. I grabbed [Dugas' friend] by the waist and I tossed him too, and when I turned around to go for Chad's brother, he was already underwater."
