According to Lafayette Consolidated Government there will be no garbage or recycling collection on Christmas Day. Christmas Day routes will be collected on Saturday December 26th. Christmas Eve collections will run as normal.

Excess garbage collections from Christmas celebrations will take place on the first service day following Christmas. Friday customers will have excess garbage collected on Saturday and Monday. Customers that have collection on Monday through Thursday will have excess collections from Monday December 28th through Thursday New Year's Eve.

Once your automated garbage cart is full you may bag excess garbage and place it four feet from the cart. Large boxes will also be collected, but should be empty except for the original packing material.

To dispose of Christmas trees your tree should be totally cleaned of all lights and ornaments. Any wooden stand nailed to the tree must be removed. Trees will be collected the same day as regular garbage collection day.

LCG's compost facility on Dugas Road will close at 11:00 am Christmas Eve and will reopen at 7:00 am Monday December 28th.
