LeAnn Rimes Cries While Discussing Cheating Scandal With E!
The 'E! Special: LeAnn Rimes' interview will air tomorrow (Dec. 9) at 8PM ET on the network. A preview clip has been released, showing the country singer, who has engaged in a very public battle of words and retorts with husband Eddie Cibrian's ex-wife Brandi Glanville that has gotten exceedingly ugly in recent days, break down in tears over the cheating scandal that has plagued her life and made her tabloid fodder for the past few years. She also admits that she and Cibrian were in broken marriages.
When E!'s Giuliana Rancic poses the difficult question –why Rimes and Cibrian acted on their attraction when both were married and he had kids- Rimes doesn't dodge that hardball. She ponders, measuring her words with careful precision.
"I never, ever in my heart want to hurt anyone," Rimes said. But she does acknowledge that things were not hunky dory in either marriage, which caused she and Cibrian to stray. "I don't think anything can separate anything that is super connected. You may have had so many wonderful things with each other…but something along the way broke that and when you can't…"
She then bites her lip and admits, "You can't break what's broken already."
Rimes battles back tears, when she admits that she and Cibrian did not go down this road without considerable and careful thought.
"No one . . . will ever understand how much thought and hurt, even towards each, other were put into our decision," she said, referring to their joint decision to leave their respective spouses. She was married to Dean Sheremet at the time.
Despite Rimes and Glanville engaging in Twitter battles and throttling one another with heaps of "she said, she said" accusations and drama, Glanville wants to bury the hatchet, but not in Rimes' back. She is doing so for the sake of the children that are caught in the middle.
"I have not, and do not, wish to engage in a battle fought through the media," Glanville said, although that's exactly what is happening. "My hope is that now that I have my ex-husband’s attention, I also can get his and his wife’s commitment to work with me to co-parent our children in a most loving, safe and supportive fashion."
Tune in to the see the rest of Rimes' interview tomorrow night.
