Much has been made this year about the freshmen that make up an integral part of the pitching staff for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.

And with good reason.

Starting pitcher Gunner Leger and relief specialist Dylan Moore have been named Freshmen All-Americans, announced today by Louisville Slugger.

Leger, from Lake Charles, goes into this weekend's Super Regional with a 6-4 record and a 2.87 ERA.  Leger began the season as a midweek starter but quickly worked his way into the weekend rotation and eventually became the Cajuns' Friday night starter.

Moore, from Hughes Springs, Texas, has appeared in 31 contests this season and has posted a 3-3 record with a 1.42 ERA.  He set the single season school record for saves this season with 13..

LSU's Alex Lange (11-0, 1.76) was named the National Freshman Pitcher of the year, and teammate Jesse Stallings (1-2, 2.23, 12 saves) was named to the team as well.

Other players of interest named to the squad were LHP Seth Romero of Houston, RHP Mac Sceroler of Southeastern La., second baseman Joe Provenzano of McNeese State and outfielders Reid Long of Troy and Ryan Chandler of Rice.
