In a video posted to Facebook, a long-time decorated newscaster in Acadiana has announced her retirement.

Blue Rolfes, local broadcast journalist with KLFY TV10, who we all grew up watching on Passe Partout, Meet Your Neighbor and other newscasts, announced today that she will be "opening a new chapter" in her life.

As a fan of Blue's, this news is like a double-edged sword: I am very happy for her and her new ventures, whatever those may be, but saddened that Acadiana will be losing a dedicated, professional broadcast journalist and television favorite.

Thank you for the years of your service to Acadiana, Blue; not just as a newscaster, but your community involvement with so many different organizations, including "Adopt-A-Pet", the Muscular Dystrophy Association, United Way of Acadiana, Junior League, Faith House, Lafayette Education Foundation (and many more) has improved the lives of people and pets alike.

We're all wishing you the best in the next phase of your life - whatever it is you decide to do, we know it'll be done with grace and professionalism.
