I love checking out Lonely Planet Travel and Leisure website and Facebook page - it gives me such inspiration! They recently did an excellent article an the Cajun MusicTrail here in Louisiana, and it really is fantastic. Even though we live here, it's always nice to see where other folks are going to hear great music around the state. We all have our favorites, and one of my favorites, which is also listed in the article, is La Poussiere Cajun Dance Hall in Breaux Bridge, which to me is more traditional Cajun music, and that's why I like it. (And it has that great dance hall feel). I also love stopping by Cajun Music Hall of Fame in Eunice - what a great place to learn about our musical heritage, and the lovely ladies who run the place are such fun - they really love their cajun musicians! If you've never been to Slim's Y-Ki-Ki in Opelousas, you are really missing out on what people come from all around the world to Louisiana for - REAL creole and Zydeco tunes - Slim's is a local treasure, for sure.

Check out the rest of the Cajun Music Trail, and the Lonely Planet article, and tell us where YOUR favorite places are to hear great cajun, and zydeco music here in Acadiana, and across Louisiana.
