Louisiana Avenue Shooting Suspect Arrested

The Lafayette Police Department arrested 20-year-old Shane Carter, and they have charged him with attempted second degree murder for a shooting in the 2800 block of Louisiana Avenue earlier this week.

Around 11:30 Tuesday night, Lafayette Police were called out to investigate after shots were fired.

Witnesses told police that the victim got out of his car, and the suspect starting shooting at him.

The victim was shot two times, and the gunman fled the scene on foot.

At last report, the victim is in stable condition at a local hospital.

Police have offered no motive in the case.
