When you put farming into corporate terms most often the CEO of the operation is a lady they call Mom. One agricultural company, Monsanto, is seeking to recognize the hard work of women on the farm with their "Mom of the Year" contest.

The contest is open to any women who make their living in agriculture. Whether it be, rice, beans, corn, dairy or any of the many other facets of farming life. The top prize is $10,000.00 and nominations are being accepted now.

To nominate your favorite farm mom you will need to write an essay of 300 words of less describing how your nominee is special in the following areas:

-Supporting Her Family

-Supporting Her Farm

-Supporting Her Community

-Supporting Agriculture.

Deadline for entry is March 31, 2014 and there will be five regional winners chosen throughout the nation. Each regional winner will receive $5,000.00. The national winner will receive an additional $5,000.00.
