Here in Sportsman's Paradise, obviously we do a lot of hunting. As Louisianians we're also pretty independent folks, so we take full advantage of our right to bear arms. How heavily armed are we compared to the rest of the U.S.? Well, we rank fairly high on the list.

Cbsnews.com has done the research, and there are some pretty interesting findings.

The least armed state? New York. Washington D.C. has the strictest gun control laws in the U.S. and they come in at number 2.

Now, the list is determined using information according to the ATF’s National Firearms Registration and Transfer Records. Only registered gun ownership per capita can be used, so this list doesn't reflect illegal gun ownership.

Where does Louisiana land on this list? We come in at number 10.
