It's been dirty, it's been expensive, and it's been divisive, it's Louisiana's hotly contested Senate race. The latest poll and how you and I might vote next Tuesday says the winner will be... Okay, the latest poll suggest that it is still anybody's race to win.

According to the recently release Suffolk University poll the statistics say it's a dead heat between incumbent Mary Landrieu and Congressman Bill Cassidy. The Suffolk poll is a little different than some of the other polls, Dr. Michael Henderson, Director of LSU's Public Policy Lab explained to the Louisiana Radio Network what the difference was,

"Now, what this poll does that's kind of interesting, is they kind of give a more nuanced look at the primary.  Maness is in there.  A lot of the polls that are out there really focus on the two person race and what the most likely runoff will be."

Speaking of Col. Rob Maness this poll showed him with 11% of the vote with Cassidy polling at 35% and Landrieu at 36%. The poll also showed how the results of a runoff might be reflected based upon the responses of those polled. Those results showed Cassidy with a 7% advantage over Landrieu with Maness taken out of the mix.

The poll was conducted based upon the responses of 500 voters from across the state. The survey dates were October 23- October 26.
