Azariya McClendon is 17-years-old. She's already graduated from college and high school. Oh, and she did all that in the same day last week. Meanwhile, I was still trying to figure out how to spell "catfish courtbouillon". I hope Azariya will let me work for her someday.

McClendon received her associates degree from Bossier Parish Community College and graduated from Ringgold High School all in the same day and evening.

How does anyone even do this?

She started taking classes from BPCC her freshman year of high school. Her counselor, Timothy Williams, said that it was the plan from the beginning to have her associates degree in the four years of high school. Turns out, McClendon finished her high school curriculum her sophomore year of high school.

"I played basketball, softball and I was a cheerleader. So when I wasn't doing any of that, I was studying," said McClendon.

She plans on coming to UL to major in biology with hopes to go to medical school at LSU-S to become an OBGYN.

Come on down to Acadiana Azariya! It will be an honor to have someone with your ambition as an honorary Cajun!

Other students at the school plan to follow in her footsteps of graduating high school with an associates degree.
