A shot heard around 1 p.m. (ET) at Fern Creek High School in Louisville, Kentucky, has injured one student and left Louisville Metro Police looking for who fired it.

The student is being treated for non-life threatening injuries and that child's parents have been notified, according to WAVE 3 News.

Officers are still trying to determine who the suspected shooter is and what led to today's shooting.

Fern Creek High School has been placed on lockdown and parents are being urged to go to nearby Fern Creek Park to pick up their children.

Students were seen being led out with hands on their hands today about an hour after the shooting happened.

Several students reportedly told LMPD they saw a firearm at the school.
