The tenth-ranked LSU Tigers captured another SEC win on Thursday night, defeating the Auburn Tigers, 10-0, in the opening game of a season-ending, three-game, conference series in Auburn, Alabama.

The win was the seventh-consecutive to open a conference series for LSU, who finishes the regular season with a 9-1 record in league openers.

LSU scored three run in the first, three in the third, and never looked back, as they coasted to the shutout win.

Jake Fraley and Mark Laird had three hits apiece, while Andrew Stevenson, Tyler Moore, and Alex Bregman each added two hits apiece, as LSU outhit Auburn, 15-4.

Jared Poche (8-3) recorded his eighth win of the year for LSU, allowing three hits and no runs over eight innings, along with five strikeouts.

Dillon Ortman (9-4) suffered the loss for Auburn.

With the victory, LSU improved to 38-14-1, overall, and 15-11-1 SEC play, while Auburn fell to 28-26, overall, and 10-18 in league play.

The middle game of the series is scheduled for Friday night at 6 o'clock.
