In front of a sellout crowd at the P-MAC, LSU held a lead for most of the game against #1 Oklahoma, but the Sooners experience helped them escape with a win.

The Tigers held a 44-36 lead at halftime, thanks to 55.6% shooting in the first half, including 7 three pointers.

However, in the second half, Sooners star Buddy Hield went off. The potential National Player of the Year finished the game with 32 points, hitting 7 of his 8 three point attempts in the second half, leading Oklahoma to a comeback.

The Tigers never stopped fighting. Antonio Blakeney hit a game-tying 3 with 24 seconds left, but Sooners senior guard Isiah Cousins hit a go-ahead jumper to give OU a 2 point edge.

LSU had a timeout, but elected to inbound the ball to Tim Quarterman who drove the length of the floor but had his potential game-tying shot blocked under the goal. Tiger fans screamed their displeasure, believing contact was made on the attempt.

Quarterman led LSU in scoring with 18, while Ben Simmons finished the game with 14 points and 9 rebounds.

With the loss, LSU falls to 13-8. #1 Oklahoma adds a solid non-conference road win to their impressive resume and 18-2 record.
