LSU Professor Tragically Killed After Being Struck By Pickup Truck

An LSU professor was walking along Highway 952 about noon yesterday (Sunday) with her bicycle that had broken down, when a pickup truck reportedly came out of a right handed turn too wide and fatally struck the woman. According to KATC, 63-year-old Elisabeth Oliver was taken to Our Lady Of The Lake Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

According to police, the driver of the truck, a 79-year-old man was given field sobriety test, but exhibited no signs of impairment. As of now, no charges have been filed.
