The LSU Tigers will play host to the Oklahoma Sooners tonight, in the opening game of a best-of-three game NCAA Super Regional series, at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field, in Baton Rouge.

LSU, who is 55-9 on the season, is hitting a .307 as a team. They are led by shortstop Alex Bregman, the 2013 National Freshman of the Year, who is hitting a .385, with six home runs, and 52 RBI's.

Oklahoma, who will come into the series with an overall record of 43-19, is batting a .286 as a club. They are paced at the plate by junior first baseman Matt Oberste, who is hitting a .376, with 11 homers, and 60 RBI's.

The Tigers will send sophomore right-hander Aaron Nola to the mound for the series opener on Friday. Nola is 11-0, with a 1.82 ERA.

The Sooners will counter with junior right-hander Jonathan Gray, who is 10-2, with a 1.59 ERA. Gray was selected with the third pick in the 2013 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft on Thursday night by the Colorado Rockies.

First pitch is scheduled for 6 o'clock.

On Saturday, junior right-handed Ryan Eades, who is 8-1, with a 2.81 ERA. will be on the mound for LSU, squaring off against junior left-hander Dillon Overton, who is 9-2, with a 2.91 ERA. for Oklahoma.

First-pitch on Saturday is also scheduled for 6 pm.

A third, and decisive game, if necessary, would take place on Sunday evening, at 6 o'clock.

The Tigers, who have won five national titles, have won five Super Regional series' in nine attempts, while the Sooners will be appearing in their fourth Super Regional in school history.

LSU leads the all-time series between the two schools, 6-3.
